My seat? I was 9B in the middle of a three-person row, with my partner to my right and an empty seat to my left. I really don't want to sound like I am a bad person, but I was pleased that nobody took that seat to my left.
Fellow passengers? A fairly quiet bunch, although the elderly gentleman in front of us seemed determined to give the flight attendants a good workout with his various requests.
How full? Maybe 80-90 per cent. We weren't packed in like sardines but plenty of people were on their way to Apia.
Entertainment? The movie selection was good and there was enough music to listen to. On a four-hour flight you don't need a lot to keep you amused.
The service? Sadly, it wasn't flash. There was only a four-person crew on the flight and it took seemingly forever to get a wine. I pushed the call bell at one stage during the flight and waited 30 minutes for any service. Four didn't seem like enough staff for the flight, but I was told that's the regular number.
Food and drink? When we eventually got it there was no reason to complain. The chicken main was good and the wine was great.
The toilets? Only had to go once, which was a minor miracle considering I'd had a few drinks in the Koru Lounge before we took off, but everything was neat and tidy.
Luggage? Our bags were checked without a concern, while our carry-on luggage fitted safely in the overhead lockers.
The airport experience? The ladies who checked me in to Koru could tell I wasn't an airport lounge regular and I am sure my partner was concerned about my behaviour when I suggested we just take a bottle of wine out of the fridge for our table. Apparently, that's just not proper etiquette.
Would I fly this again? Sure. I'd just hope there wouldn't be as many passengers on the plane or the number of cabin crew is bumped up to five members.
