Old meets new outside the Louvre, where the famous glass pyramid sits in front of a historic former palace. However, it's not the easiest place to get a photo due to the multitudes of tourists trying to do the same. Try visiting on a weekday for better results.
There's nothing like viewing the City of Lights from a high vantage point. If you're ready for a serious workout, hike the steps of the Arc de Triomphe — it's open late, for those beautiful night shots. From the top you can see all the way down the Champs-Elysées to the Louvre, with the Eiffel Tower peering out over the rooftops.
There are more steps to tackle at Notre Dame, but it's worth it to look out over the city from the point of view of a gargoyle. Capture views of the Seine, the left bank and the Haussmannian architecture of St Germain.
Another icon of Paris that's hard to photograph through all the tourists, though the white dome of the basilica can be seen all over the city. The front of Sacre Coeur is usually full of people, but you can sneak a good shot at the back, especially after sunset.
To get that iconic shot of the Iron Lady in all her glory, head to the Trocadero area. Here you'll have the best possible view of the Eiffel Tower and can capture it from top to bottom. For an extra beautiful photo, wake up early and get there for sunrise.
