Glasgow and the River Clyde are inseparable. The river, which rises in rural Lanarkshire and flows through the Scottish city before reaching the sea at Inverclyde, is the essential link that made Glasgow one of the 18th century's great merchant cities and the world's leading manufacturer of ships and locomotives in the 19th century.
You can see the river and Clydeside on an amphibious coach run by GlasgowDucks. The 90-minute tour, which leaves from George Square in the heart of the city, costs $41 for adults and $30 for children.
