Fiji gets wired

With the introduction of the Southern Cross cable, Fiji has the same communication capabilities as New Zealand, Australia and America.

The technology update is expected to open the doors to new business opportunities in Fiji, including offshore data processing centres.

The fibre optic cable can deliver 120 gigabytes of fully protected capacity a second, enough to transmit two full-length movies between America and New Zealand.
