Festival of the forest

The inaugural Northland Kauri Festival honours and celebrates one of the region's great icons, the giant kauri tree.

From September 19-26 you can experience the mystique of these majestic trees through a variety of events and activities such as forest night walks, package promotions, a photography competition, kauri plantings, and wood carving displays.
