From next February the farmstay companies Rural Tours and Farm and Countryhome Stays will merge as Rural Tourism Holdings.
It will have more than 1500 properties in the portfolio.
About 100,000 people use farmstay or homestay accommodation each year. The average stay on a farm is six to seven nights.
