Forests to beaches, cliff tops to sandy plains, agriculture and old gold mines - a Western Australia Wildflowers Tour takes in all the contrasts of the state's southwest.

The October 2 tour organised by Travelworks New Zealand is timed to capture the displays of Australia's native flora.

Accommodation on one part of the 12-day trip is in private homes with farming families - a chance to meet and talk with the locals in truly rural settings. The cost is $3995 a person, twin share, which includes flights to and from Perth, and most meals.
