Bush and Beach Wilderness Tours have been delving into Auckland's west coast for almost 20 years and know "all the secret places".
Less than 40 minutes from downtown Auckland, the journey will take you on half-day or full-day tours that take in black-sand beaches, towering waterfalls, streams and grand kauri trees. You can simply stroll through rainforest for a couple of hours or spend the night in a wilderness lodge, set in 32ha of bush.
No more than 11 people are taken on each tour to minimise impact on the natural environment.
The five-hour Wilderness Experience tour and the eight-hour Best of Both Worlds tour depart from Auckland daily. Full wet-weather gear is provided when necessary.
