Expanding horizons

An expansive stained-glass window of 140 sq m has been incorporated into the decor of the recently launched cruise ship Amsterdam.

The Holland America Lines ship has the impressive window over its La Fontaine Dining Room.

To make it safe, the window is made of individual panes fixed with a flexible compound. The coloured glass is set on laminated clear glass to give it the strength and stability needed on a ship.

The dining room seats 747 on two levels and has windows that provide extensive ocean views.
