Take a virtual walk around Australia's National Wine Centre, which opens in June.
More than 10,000 wines from 50 regions throughout Australia will be on display in the $NZ30.4 million centre, right next door to Adelaide's Botanic Gardens. The centre has state-of-the-art multi media technology in its exhibition gallery, and staff on hand to explain wine production.
Master wine and cooking classes will be held, hosted by celebrity chefs and wine buffs.
In the meantime, for those who can make it to Adelaide, this year's Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend on May 19 and 20 will be held at more than 20 wineries throughout the region, which lies about 100km north of Adelaide.
Themed menus from some of South Australia's best restaurants, and all-day dining and tastings of classic rieslings and mature reds are all part of the festival.
