Brush up on your duck calling, don your camouflage gear and head to Hunterville for the Rangitikei River Duck Race on April 30. The event is a fundraiser for the Square Trust Rescue Helicopter, and there are more than $2000 worth of prizes to be won. Buy a duck for $5 at local outlets including information centres in Marton, Bulls, Taihape, Feilding, Wanganui and Palmerston North. They'll be released for their 4km journey at 1pm, and the prizegiving will be at 6pm at the Station Hotel in Hunterville, followed by best duck calling and camouflage competitions.
