A group of drunk passengers were escorted off a Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Sydney last night.
The passengers were all travelling together on the flight JQ522, when they were removed from the flight at Melbourne airport.
The airline told news.com.au the crew had decided to offload "a handful" of disruptive, intoxicated passengers after they boarded the plane at about 8pm local time (10pm NZT).
Other members of the group chose to voluntarily disembark, Jetstar said.
The Australian Federal Police at Melbourne Airport were called and the flight was delayed by an hour and 20 minutes as a result.
A spokeswoman for Jetstar told news.com.au the airline did not tolerate disruptive behaviour.
