Drink in the scenery out west

Vineyard tour guide Phil Parker knows there's some special scenery that shouldn't be missed when he takes tourists to taste the wines at West Auckland's vineyards.

So Parker will tailor his tours to suit those who want to catch a sight of West Coast beaches or take a walk in native bush.

The Fine Wine Tours generally take in three gold medal-winning wineries, with a picnic morning tea.

The tours are limited to six people, and inner-city pick-ups can be arranged.

A half-day costs $95 a person. Full-day and cheese tours are also available.
