Located in Claverton Manor near Bath, the American Museum in Britain contains over 15,000 items of decorative arts spanning US history from its early settlers to the 20th century.
The museum marks its 50th anniversary this year, and one of the special exhibitions will be Marilyn: Hollywood Icon, which will feature 20 dresses worn by Marilyn Monroe as well as photographs, posters and personal items.
Other special events include a Fab@50 trail of 50 special items that highlight the breadth of the museum's collection, and the opening of a new Folk Art Gallery focusing on pre-industrial America.
