Albuquerque's National Institute of Flamenco preserves and promotes the artistry, history and culture of flamenco and fulfils an educational role through its National Conservatory of Flamenco Arts, a professional flamenco school that offers lessons for beginners through to professionals.
The Institute is also the base for Yjastros - the American Flamenco Repertory Company, an acclaimed touring company that captures the passion and improvisation of traditional flamenco in a structured repertory format.
The institute's famous annual Flamenco Festival features performances from the world's finest flamenco artists, a competition for professional and pre-professional artists and workshops where the public can learn this powerful yet graceful art form.
