Nov 16-19, New Caledonia
Every November, New Caledonia swings to the rhythms of gypsy jazz - a style popularised in Paris in the 1930s to 1950s by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli.
The New Caledonia festival is dedicated to the music of Reinhardt and Grappelli, with international artists coming together to provide an anthology that covers all aspects of the gypsy style.
Expect to see top exponents of the genre delivering unforgettable performances of jazz, swing and Eastern European music, including Balkan music and electro-swing.
Concerts will be held throughout New Caledonia, culminating in a seven-hour finale at the spectacular Tjibaou Cultural Centre in Noumea.
