May 10-15, South Australia
South Australia's Copper Coast was once home to thousands of Cornish miners and this heritage is remembered during Kernewek Lowender, which is said to be the world's largest Cornish festival.
Highlights include a Village Green Fair, the Grand Procession featuring floats, music and dance, and the Fer Kernewek (traditional Cornish fair).
Other popular features are maypole dances, a traditional dance known as the Furry Dance, the May Queen crowning, and art, music and literary events.
Over 20,000 cornish pasties are expected to be consumed (learn to make them in a workshop), along with many litres of "Swanky", a home-style beer brewed for the occasion.
