December 11, Jenolan Caves, NSW
Located in the beautiful Blue Mountains outside Sydney, the extensive Jenolan Caves system offers everything from sedate guided walks to adventure caving and innovative theme tours such as the world's first cave tour in the Klingon language.
On Saturday nights, concerts are held in the massive Grand Arch, Australia's largest open cave, which is also a magical setting for the annual Carols in the Caves.
Hosted by TV personalities, this fundraising event is a chance to join in traditional Christmas carols with gifted performers who perform on rocky ledges among the stalagmites and stalactites.
The following day a non-denominational church service is held underground.
