Disney World honours unused ticket from 1994

One woman got to complete her childhood trip to Walt Disney World when the theme park agreed to honour her unused ticket from 1994.

As a four-year-old, Chelsea Herline missed out on the last day of her family's holiday at the Orlando theme park when she fell ill.

When her father recently discovered the old four-day pass, with one day still remaining, Ms Herline decided to try her luck at the gates 22 years later - and was in for a pleasant surprise when the park accepted it.

The pass included an image of Ms Herline as a child and fortunately had no expiry date.

Currently employed as an insights analyst at LinkedIn in San Francisco, Ms Herline hadn't been to Disney World in about a decade.

The ticket had been found at the perfect time, as she was due to visit Orlando and stay at her family's time share holiday home.

When she visited the park last month, her mother dropped her off and even stayed in the carpark in case the plan backfired.

"I was totally not expecting to go to Disney World that day,' she told TODAY. "I didn't bring anything with me, so it was really surprising.

"The ticket didn't have an expiration date so I was ready to argue my way in, but they were so nice about it."

Staff at the park remarked that they hadn't seen such an old ticket before and it was replaced with a new one by a manager.

After an incredible day meeting her favourite characters and going on the rides, Ms Herline posted about her experience on LinkedIn.

"Kudos to Walt Disney World for great customer service!" she wrote.

"Found my ticket from when I was 4 years old with one day remaining - and 22 years later they kept their commitment. #mostmagicalplaceonearth."
