Every morning at 6.30, for five days, spectacular hot air balloons from around the world will rise into the skies above Hamilton and fan out across the Waikato region for the annual Balloons over Waikato event.
New Zealand's premier ballooning festival begins tomorrow with more than 40 eye-catching craft taking to the air. On his first "airing" in New Zealand skies will be "Mr Biddle" from the US, an enormous teddy bear, towering above most other balloons.
The festival runs until April 13, and includes the Night Glow Show. The free event, at Innes Common beside Hamilton Lake, runs from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, April 12.
