The Hibiscus Coast Hospice fundraiser "Art at the Estuary" runs June 3-7 at the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa. Seventy artists have created a selection of almost 300 works for sale. The exhibition opens with a preview and an Auction Night on June 3, which costs $25. Exhibition opening hours are 9.30am-4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 9.30am-2pm on Monday. Entry is by gold coin donation.

A likely story
Waiheke also hosts the magical "Once Upon an Island Festival of Story" over Queen's Birthday weekend, starting June 4 with a storytelling showcase. Other events include interactive theatre, a Magical Kingdoms' Art exhibition, adult storytelling evenings, interactive story workshops and activities, Matariki stories, 1001 Nights _ An Arabian fantasy, and a special outdoor session at Whakanewha Regional Park.
