The snow-covered streets of Quebec come alive with celebrations during the Quebec Winter Carnival, from January 26 to February 11.
Artists decorate the streets with ice and snow sculptures and the city sparkles in the sunshine and twinkles at night.
Each year an enormous illuminated ice palace is built from blocks of ice cut from the frozen St Lawrence River.
