Sea travel to the the Orkney and Shetland Islands off the north coast of Scotland, the most remote outposts of Britain, will be cheaper next year.
A new ferry company, Northlink, using state-of-the-art vessels, is taking over from P&O on the routes from Aberdeen and Scrabster.
Three vessels will provide cabins with en suites, a choice of restaurants, bars and lounges. The price will be $144, down from $372.
