The birthday of one of the world's greatest explorers, Captain Cook, will be celebrated with a two-day festival in his English hometown of Middlesbrough this October.
Historic re-enactments, music, and entertainment in the town's centre and events at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum will be held on October 21 and 22. The nearby seaside town of Whitby on the Yorkshire coast was Cook's home port and has displays about his life.
