Carnival Cuban-style

Pack your loud shirts and prepare to party if you're in Wellington from February 27 to 29.

The colourful Cuba Carnival is back, celebrating the personality of Cuba St.

Two kilometres of the city will buzz with 15 entertainment zones, providing a mix of music and dance, busking, markets, public sculpture, kids' stuff and sports events.

The carnival kicks off with an outdoor film fiesta on Friday, and Saturday's night parade will be a highlight.

The event features hundreds of performers and dozens of floats, decorated vehicles and costumed walkers. The event is free.
