The ruins of Huntly Castle in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands will be at the centre of an enormous gathering of the Clan Gordon in August - a three-day celebration called "Gordon 2000," which is expected to lure thousands to the tiny settlement near Aberdeen.
The festival will mark 600 years of the Gordon family living in the district.
Organisers say anyone who bears the name of one of the 70 septs of the Gordon Clan - and those who are descendants of Gordon and sept-men (the men who served in the Gordon Highlanders) may attend.
The celebrations will include plays, cocktail parties and dinners, festival-style outdoor entertainment, exhibitions of art, music, fashion and photography, a golf tournament, dancing, open gardens, lecture programmes and a ball.
Gordon 2000 runs from August 4 to 6 inclusive.
