Motorcycle enthusiasts who have always promised themselves they'll do the Brass Monkey Rally sometime had better start planning if they want to make it this year.
The rally attracts people of all ages and backgrounds who ride out on an equally diverse range of bikes.
It's held every Queen's Birthday weekend at Oturehua in Central Otago, near the site of New Zealand's coldest recorded temperature.
Rally participants should pack plenty of thermals and a sleeping bag or two to ward off temperatures as low as -20C.
A huge bonfire helps to keep the chill at bay, or you can keep the body temperature up by dancing to the band.
