Small hotels carefully chosen for their authentic history are standard on a two-week walking tour in the south-west of France, led by a Frenchwoman who is a long-time resident of New Zealand.
Solange Bely, of Troubadour Travel, guides her walkers on two- to three-hour walks, while mini-buses carry the luggage.
The tour begins on the Spanish border and includes St Emilion and the Dordogne.
Rooms are for two, at $6900 a person, and single supplements are available. The price includes all meals, wine, entry fees to museums, sites, cultural events and transport. Travel dates are June 20 to July 4 or September 9 to 23.
