Wellington Mayor Mark Blumsky's push for significantly more Government financing of Tourism New Zealand has drawn widespread support from his colleagues.
Blumsky appealed to the country's 74 mayors and 12 regional council chairmen to support an open letter requesting the Government to raise financing from $55 million a year to a figure based on the industry's GST return from international visitors, estimated at $500 million.
