Birds on Antarctica

It might be surrounded by ice and below-zero temperatures, but Antarctica is fast becoming one of the bird-watching hot spots of the world.

More and more birdwatchers are discovering the region is a rare site where they can see species ranging from penguins and petrels to prions and albatrosses.

Heritage Expeditions New Zealand is taking a Birding Down Under expedition from November 21 to December 9.
