Eerie lights will flash through Whakarewarewa Forest in Rotorua with the return of the Cateye Moonride on May 7-8.
The action starts with the 24-hour race kicking off at 10pm on Friday night, with riders cycling through the night guided only by bike lights.
The ride is open to teams and individuals.
The 12-hour ride starts at 10am on Saturday and is also open to teams and individuals.
More than 2500 riders are expected to complete the 8km circuit, which has been designed to suit all levels.
