Auckland's garden festival with a difference

Heroic Gardens 2003 is an Auckland summer garden festival with a difference.

The festival features some of the most innovative, quirky and creative gardens in Auckland - all owned and created by the gay fraternity of the city.

An annual event since 1997, the gardens are open on Saturday and Sunday, February 8 and 9.

The festival raises funds for the Auckland City Mission's Herne Bay House. The 25 gardens range in style from kitsch cottage and rambling country through to fashionable Pacific Rim and tropical.

Tickets are $25 and valid for all gardens all weekend.
