A 16km self-guided walk from the Viaduct Harbour to Onehunga crosses the narrow neck of land that gives Auckland its maritime character.
The route passes five volcanic sites, urban landscapes and several parks with a range of fauna and flora and fantastic views of the city and Hauraki Gulf.
The walk takes four to six hours at an easy pace. Public buses run in both directions. Self-guide maps are available free from i-SITE visitor information centres at Skycity or the Viaduct Harbour.
