The Polynesian voyager Kupe is regarded by many as the ancestor who discovered this country, and an exhibition that celebrates his connection with New Zealand runs at New Plymouth's Puke Ariki until June 11. Kupe Sitesis a touring exhibition from Te Papa that depicts stories of Kupe's encounter with New Zealand through various landmarks and places. The stories are presented through photographs of places and video recordings of kuia and kaumatua from areas that have strong traditional links to Kupe.
