Adrenalin-filled adventure 15m in the air

An unusual and lofty attraction on the Coromandel could find you balancing and swinging between 15m-high poles.

The Highzone Ropes Course at Whitianga has been doling out the adrenalin rushes since it began 18 months ago.

You can harness up and challenge yourself with a choice of nine activities - under expert guidance - from walking a beam to leaping for a trapeze with names such as "chicken walk", "rickety bridge", and "heebey jeebey".

The adventures begin at $10, while tackling the whole course costs $60. Sturdy footwear and suitable clothing are essential.
