Waiheke Island's Andrew Williams rode the ferry to work last week day-dreaming of southern mountains and snow, little realising the dream would become reality.
Williams, a 40-year-old personnel manager at the Dominion English School, is the lucky winner of a Ski Express weekend escape in Queenstown.
Last season he managed to ski just two days at Mt Ruapehu and can't wait to ski at Coronet Peak or The Remarkables.
Williams describes himself as a "bold intermediate" skier.
