Wellington's Battle Hill Farm Forest Park is a 500ha working farm providing a mixture of farming, forestry and recreation activities. It offers horse riding and mountain biking trails, easy walks through a scenic bush reserve, and great spots to picnic and camp. The park is the site of the 1846 conflict between Crown forces and local Maori, and the summit of Battle Hill has splendid views of the surrounding area.
Battle Hill is on the Paekakariki Hill Rd, 6km from State Highway 58 at Pauatahanui, or 10km from State Highway 1 at Paekakariki.
