A neon Stonehenge has taken up residence in the Nevada desert, just out of Las Vegas.
Five years in the making, Seven Magic Mountains is the work of Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, who is part of the "land art" movement - where artists manipulate and work with natural landscapes.
The "mountains", which cost US$3.5 million ($5.1 million), are his first publicly commissioned work, inspired by the natural "hoodoo" rock formations in southwestern America. The seven limestone stacks are over 9m tall, with each boulder dipped in a different brightly-coloured shade of paint.
Contrasting dramatically with the muted colours of the desert, it's an installation that's begging to be photographed - and since its opening on May 11, thousands have done just so.
