A kid, a rod and some fun at sea

A borrowed fishing rod, free bait and a spot against the railing on board the wooden sailing scow, Ted Ashby, are part of the package for Fishing Fun Days on the Auckland Harbour.

Young "fishos" aged from 8 to 10 must have an adult alongside for the day at sea (9am to 3.30pm).

Organised by the New Zealand National Maritime Museum, the rods and bait are provided with the $30 a person tickets. The Fishing Fun Days are held today and Friday, and next week on January 22 and 24.

Bookings are essential.
