Why don't airlines clamp down on the selfish few who take the kitchen sink on board?

The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) says four key areas of work are now underway to get the new northbound Newmarket Viaduct on Auckland's Southern Motorway ready to open for traffic.

Auckland's "integrated" public transport cards, introduced in May with a $1 million marketing budget from the public purse, will have to be replaced because they are not compatible with a new system for trains, ferries and some bus companies.

Auckland wharfies are at loggerheads with their employer over the hours they work. The port company says rosters are inflexible, the union says proposed changes will ruin family life. Mathew Dearnaley reports on the standoff
