Snowkiting enthusiasts from around the world gathered on the icy mountain plains of Hardangervidda in Norway, to take part in the world's largest snowkite race: Red Bull Ragnarok. With shifty winds and some seriously icy conditions, only 4 of the 300 kiters we're able to complete the course in full, making it the toughest competition to date. Chiefs prop Ben Afeaki has retired from all rugby due to concerns about his long term health. Afeaki suffered concussion in February 2014 during an Super Rugby match against the Crusaders. He was cleared to resume training as part of a graduated return to play plan.

A Kiwi horse by the name of Mongolian Khan won the Australian Derby in Sydney yesterday. Mongolian Khan had already won the New Zealand Derby. Probably the best thing that went with it was racing presenter Aidan Rodley’s celebration. Aidan was presenting on trackside at the time of the race from Sydney and he is also jockey Opie Bosson’s manager. So when Opie won the Derby, Aidan got a little bit excited. Former New Zealand All Black Mils Muliaina was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault last night after playing in Connacht’s European Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat by Gloucester. A statement was issued today from his solicitor outside Cardiff Bay police station.
Bob Scott and fellow farming friends decided to take their vintage cars for a drive. Except this was no ordinary drive it was a 530 km journey return from Sheffield to the remote Muzzle Station west of Kaikoura via an overnight camp at the Branch Hutt, all the while fording rivers and driving on roads that are usually the domain of the 4WD. Seven vintage cars, the oldest a 1924 Dodge, 12 men and a Hilux as a support car set out to do the trip, all seven made it back home. With only minor breakdowns on the way that were fixed by the good old Kiwi Number 8 wire mentality. Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has come under fire for giving verbal sprays to New Zealand's batsmen in yesterday's World Cup final, but according to an Australian newspaper he has an intriguing explanation for his behaviour. The Daily Telegraph reported on a phone interview that Haddin did with Sydney radio station Triple M this morning. When asked about his sledging of New Zealand batsman Grant Elliott at the MCG, Haddin gave a surprising answer. "You know what? They deserved it," he said.

In his final press conference before tomorrow's final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, McCullum said he couldn't imagine a better scenario than facing Australia ''in front of 100,000, in Australia's backyard, with the history and tradition and against a very good Australian team. 'This is the ultimate game for us to be able to play. Everyone is excited about it, I'm sure some guys will be nervous tomorrow morning, but it certainly whets the appetities. It's the greatest stage we can ask for."
