International gamblers rolling into Auckland to spend big bucks at SkyCity will soon be enjoying five-star hospitality on the high seas.

Mike Hosking stood to gain up to $48,000 this year in cash and perks from casino giant SkyCity, according to financial information obtained by the Herald on Sunday.

SkyCity Entertainment Group first-half profit jumped 17 per cent to a record on improved earnings from its flagship Auckland casino and hotel complex.

SkyCity, the country's biggest casino operator, boosted annual profit 21 per cent as its sales beat brokers' targets with Auckland gaming revenues reporting strong growth.
