Waka Kotahi says road renewals season is almost at the halfway point.
The crossing was closed due to safety concerns in April 2022.
The road was closed on Sunday due to a significant slip.
Delays caused by Cyclone Lola and site vandalism initially delayed the project.
Another slip has closed the road, a week on from a slip which caused a fatal crash.
It is the last major repair to be completed on Parapara Rd after the June 2015 floods.
Three sites have been one lane for almost 10 months since Cyclone Gabrielle in February.
