Watch: Vintage cars rally

Bob Scott and fellow farming friends decided to take their vintage cars for a drive. Except this was no ordinary drive it was a 530 km journey return from Sheffield to the remote Muzzle Station west of Kaikoura via an overnight camp at the Branch Hutt, all the while fording rivers and driving on roads that are usually the domain of the 4WD. Seven vintage cars, the oldest a 1924 Dodge, 12 men and a Hilux as a support car set out to do the trip, all seven made it back home. With only minor breakdowns on the way that were fixed by the good old Kiwi Number 8 wire mentality. A remarkable trip with breathtaking South Island scenery we follow these 80 year old cars through the mountains.
