Twenty-two pilot whales have died after a pod of 99 stranded at Golden Bay at the top of the South Island today.

Auckland wharfies are at loggerheads with their employer over the hours they work. The port company says rosters are inflexible, the union says proposed changes will ruin family life. Mathew Dearnaley reports on the standoff
