Action has been taken to prevent people from taking items which washed ashore this morning from the Rena. Efforts are underway to keep more containers floating away.

Alesana Seneka drowned at Papamoa Beach on Tuesday after trying to retrieve cray pots from the water. His family say his death was "something we didn't expect to happen."
