Local logistics company Mainfreight has reported a 77pc lift in interim profits and dividend payouts sup by a quarter.

Mainfreight is reporting its first quarter net surplus after abnormals rose 109 per cent to $14.2 million.

Mainfreight has achieved record earnings in the 2011 financial year as a recovery in global freight supports its grab for market share.
