The Australian Film Industry (AFI) awards were given a shake-up this year, now opting to go by the title, Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards in a bid to boost international appeal in the event. The red carpet was rolled out for the inaugural AACTAs at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday night and the Aussie talent stepped out in style.

Bright colours, hints of skin, lace and beading proved to be the biggest trends on the SAG red carpet. Here’s our pick of hits and misses:

Dewy skin and soft lips reigned on the red carpet, but the babes that went for a bold red lip made a glam statement. Hair was soft and feminine and the boys favored facial fuzz.
