WorkSafe notified after person injured by machinery at Waikato animal feed facility

A person has minor injuries after being trapped by machinery at a GrainHub animal feed plant in Tuakau, Waikato.

A police spokesperson said the Bollard Rd incident was reported to emergency services about 9.50am.

“It does look like a person was injured by machinery,” the spokesperson said.

“Fire and Emergency and ambulance are also at the scene.”

The spokesperson said the injuries received in the incident were minor.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said staff assisted ambulance workers at the scene.

“A person was trapped by machinery,” the spokesperson said.

“The person was released by staff at the location.”

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said the Tuakau incident was reported at 9.45am.

“One ambulance has responded, the crew assessed and treated one patient in a minor condition at the scene.”

A WorkSafe New Zealand spokesperson said the watchdog had been notified of the incident and was making initial inquiries.

GrainHub has been contacted for comment.
