It's good to see some positive signs on the dairy horizon after a busy and stressful couple of years.

This has been compounded by the wet weather.

It's important that we take time to refresh ourselves to stay healthy.

I recently attended a Good Yarn workshop and was reminded of the five key things we need to do to keep ourselves healthy. It's easy to get so focused on work and all the demands that creates that we lose our perspective.

Here's a quick outline:

1. Give - outside of ourselves and business, it might be community groups/events/ teams. Helping others helps ourselves.

2. Connect - get out and socialise with other people, find new friends or re-establish old connections.

3. Take notice - of the small things in life. Stop pause, relax, and appreciate the present moment, focus on your breathing.

4. Keep learning - it keeps our brains functioning and our minds open to new ideas and makes a more interesting person.

5. Be active - just for 20-30 minutes a day. It will get those endorphins flowing and is good for your body and mind.
